| Job Description | The Principal ICT Officer shall report to the Director, Corporate Services and shall provide technical leadership for specific operational and technical work within the assigned deployment area, including the supervision and capacity development of subordinate officers. (a) Job Specifications An officer at this grade will be deployed in Corporate ICT and will be tasked with; (i) Implementing the formulation, development, and execution of ICT policies, strategies, and operational plans aligned with the Authority’s Strategic Plan to guide internal digital transformation and technology adoption; (ii) Implementing the automation of business functions and processes for efficiency, effectiveness, and optimisation in the Authority’s operations and service delivery; (iii) Implementing cybersecurity measures, guidelines, and controls to safeguard the Authority’s ICT installations, systems, and databases against violations, threats, and unauthorised access; (iv) Implementing effective disaster recovery and business continuity mechanisms, including backup procedures, failover systems, and recovery protocols for operational resilience; (v) Conducting the maintenance of the Authority’s ICT infrastructure and systems, including networks, servers, applications, databases, and end-user devices, for effective and efficient operations; (vi) Conducting efficient ICT support services to the Authority’s users through helpdesk operations, technical assistance, incident resolution, and user request management; (vii) Conducting the training of the Authority’s users on the use of ICT systems, applications, and digital tools to enhance digital literacy and productivity; (viii) Preparing advisory to management on ICT-related matters including technology investments, digital initiatives, system upgrades, security posture, and alignment with organisational objectives; (ix) Person Specifications For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: (i) Cumulative service of nine (9) years of relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been served at the grade of Senior ICT Officer or in a comparable and relevant position; (ii) A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Business Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other relevant field, from a recognised institution; (iii) Professional certification in any of the following: CCNA, CISA, PMP, PRINCE2, OCP, ITIL, TOGAF, COBIT, CISSP, CCSP, CCSA, CDMP, CBIP, CEH, AWS / Azure / Google Cloud certifications, or any equivalent certification, where applicable; (iv) Membership in good standing of a relevant professional body; (v) A valid practising licence from a relevant regulatory body, where applicable; (vi) A certificate in a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognised institution; (vii) Demonstrated managerial, administrative and professional competencies as reflected in work performance and results. |
